We are both very excited for his new opportunity, and for our future, but we're both also sad that he has to move to Omaha. I will be staying at Drake to finish up my LAST YEAR of college. I got myself an apartment right across the street from Drake with one of Ryan's friends from undergrad, Crystal, and potentially two other girls. It's a nice four bedroom, two bathroom right by Drake. No winter driving! Yay! Sulley will be Ryan's roommate, as I cannot have a pet in my new apartment. I will move mid-August, just in time for school to start. Ryan will also move around that same time. Anyway, it will be hard to be away from each other, but it is only two hours away, and a great opportunity for him. I am looking forward to hitting up the zoo after Ryan moves! I hear Omaha is a pretty nice place. I'm excited to see what the future holds for us!
Wedding planning is going pretty smoothly. I think I am right on track. Ryan and I actually picked out our wedding bands a couple of weeks ago. Yes, we're very early on it, but we wanted to be able to space out our costs so that we can pay for everything throughout the next year instead of all at the end! Ryan picked out a very contemporary band that I think will definitely fit his style, and I picked out a classic gold band with diamonds that will look great with my engagement ring! As stressful as wedding planning can be, it is actually pretty fun! It took us a long time to pick out our rings, but in the end I think we ended up with just what we wanted. I'm glad Ryan picked out my engagement ring all by himself, because that would have been 10x as hard for me to pick!
This past weekend Ryan and I headed to Bloomfield for the good ole Davis County Fair! We watched Tavian and mommy Kylie participate in the baby contest. No wins for Tavian, but he is baby of the year in our minds! :) We also checked out the 4-H building to see Colton's award-winning projects! His photograph of Tavian's hands will be going to the state fair, and he also got one other project considered for the state fair. All the rest of his projects (including a table made out of tree trunks and several baked goods) all received blue ribbons!
We also went to the Jamey Johnson concert on Saturday night. What a great show! We had 2nd and 3rd row seats, and he played for about 2 hours! We really enjoyed it, and hope more great acts come to the DC fair in the future.
