I just arrived back this past Thursday from Ryan's and my week long vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We had an amazing trip. It was around 80 degrees all week and it didn't rain once! The weather was perfect! Then Thursday, we came home to the frozen tundra that is Iowa! That was quite a shocker! We flew out of Kansas City on January 8th at around 4:45 am to Dallas, and then from Dallas we flew into Cabo. We arrived around noon Mexico time. We were tired from all the flying and driving, so we decided to take it easy our first day there. We walked around the resort, ate lunch, and relaxed on our balcony. Ryan mentioned taking a walk on the beach later that night, and I thought that sounded like a good idea. Around 7:30, we headed out to check out the beach.
We walked down to one end of the beach and sat and talked for a while. I started to get cold, so I asked if we could go back. Ryan said that we should get up and walk around for just a while longer. So, we headed to the other end of the beach. After a little more walking around we sat on a couple of beach chairs. A few minutes later I saw a bell boy walking down the stairs from the resort to the beach and he had a bunch of stuff in his hands. Ryan said, "Who's that?" with kind of a coy grin on his face. The bell boy came down to the beach and laid out a blanket, spread rose petals on it, and sat down a bottle of champagne. Ryan grabbed my hand, and I started to cry. He took me over to the blanket, and handed me a paper that said he had a star named after us. Then, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I, of course, said yes! The ring is gorgeous! He did a good job!

We did a ton of fun things during our trip! We stayed at the Riu Palace, an all inclusive resort.

They had several different restaurants and shows every night. It was eat all you want, drink all you want 24/7 all included in what we payed to stay there. They have two pools, two swim up bars, several other bars and buffets.
On Friday we went shopping downtown. There is a really nice mall there, as well as a bunch of vendors all over. Saturday, we went snorkeling in two different places. We went snorkeling by the arch, and saw some amazing fish and sea life. We saw whales, dolphins, and sea lions on our way, too!
Sunday, we went zip-lining on 8 different zip lines. It was really good exercise. We walked all over the mountainous area in the desert to all the different zip lines. It was a lot of fun!
Monday, we went parasailing. I was nervous, but once we got up in the air it was actually pretty relaxing. We got up so high! It was a great view though!

Tuesday, we went on a sunset cruise on a pirate ship! It was so pretty and a lot of fun. They put on a show, and I actually got pulled up on stage. Then, we had to choose someone from the audience to come up too, and I went and grabbed Ryan, of course! We had to dance and do different things when the guy said different words. Ryan and I almost won. We were the last ones eliminated before he handed out prizes. Oh well, we still had a ton of fun! It was a 2 1/2 hour cruise and we had a blast.
Throughout the week, we went shopping downtown a few times, ate too much, went to Hard Rock Cafe and Cabo Wabo, walked the beach, and swam. At night we went to the stage and watched most of the shows and live music. On our last full day in Cabo, Wednesday, we decided to lounge around the resort. We swam, laid out, relaxed, and hung out on the beach. That night we went and saw a mariachi band. Then, we packed and got ready to fly out in the morning. Everyone at the resort was so nice, and we had a great time!
